Shhhhhhhhh, this birthday surprise is a secret!!
Little Eleanor is about to turn 5.
She’s a miracle child. At birth, doctors didn’t believe that she’d live to see her 5th birthday. On November 3, 2011 she will defy the odds and turn 5. Her happy parents planned a mack-daddy, two-week vacation at Walt Disney World in Orlando to celebrate their amazingly strong little warrior.
Only now their celebration is not going to happen. Seventeen days ago, little Eleanor was admitted to the hospital in Tennessee. In addition to Systemic Juvenile Arthritis, Eleanor suffers from a variety of auto-immune issues. Her body is attacking itself. The doctors are doing everything that they can for her, but she has to stay in the hospital hooked up to IV infusions for at least the next four weeks… thus, she will turn five in the hospital and not at Walt Disney World.
Unfortunately, we can’t make Eleanor better. But we CAN give her a birthday celebration to remember! We’re on a mission to send Walt Disney World to her!! We’re thinking: a “Bibbity Bobbity Boutique” style princess makeover (Ariel is her favorite) complete with hair, makeup, gown, shoes, crown and wand. Plus, princess jammies, bedding, wall hangings, toys, games etc. And, depending on the amount of donations, perhaps even a visit from Ariel herself.
Want to help? We’re collecting donations so that we can send some Disney magic from here in Orlando to Knoxville, TN. Click the Donate button below to be part of the birthday magic. We’ll be sure to post updates so that you can see the wonderful way that you impacted this little girl and her family.

Eleanor is the granddaughter of my cousin. She is the sweetest little girl in the world, and I’m sure that she was ecstatic at the prospect of being turned into a princess. She has been a princess to me all along. We could all learn a valuable lesson from her in patience and tolerance when dealing with a situation that is out of our control. I hope that everyone seeing this will say a little prayer in her behalf. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ELLE!
Thank you Iva for your donation and note… you are so right- we can all learn so much from this beautiful child and her inspiring parents!!
