Meet Kaitlynn. A couple of years ago, this amazing, giving girl was delivering Easter baskets to the children at Winnie Palmer Hospital when she realized that some of the kids didn’t have any hair. Even at 6, she realized how lucky she was to have hair. Kaitlynn decided to grow her hair long to help another child who didn’t have any hair.
Last fall, just as she was about to donate her hair FOR THE SECOND TIME, Kaitlynn saw a flier for a Locks of Love event and decided that she wanted to do the same thing! She talked her mom into heading up the project and together they are working hard to make Kaitlynn’s dream of making a difference a reality! Kaitlynn(now 9 years old) is hoping to get enough hair and money to sponsor one bald child. – It takes between six and ten ponytails to make ONE hair piece for a child plus $1,000 to for the cost of putting it all together and making the cranial prosthesis. (Retail value on each cranial prosthesis is between $3,000 and $6,000). 
Be a part of this great event!! Everyone can participate. Here’s how:
- Donate your hair. If you want to donate, come out to the event for a FREE haircut. If you’re not in Central Florida, then follow these guidelines and mail your hair to: Locks of Love, 234 Southern Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL 33405-2701. (Be sure to leave a comment below so that we know you’re sending your hair as part of Kaitlynn’s event.)
- Purchase an on-line raffle ticket. Click this link to donate to Kaitlynn’s event. Every donated dollar equals one raffle ticket. Every dollar (minus credit card fees) will be donated directly to Locks of Love in Kaitlynn’s name. (Raffle prize has been donated by Out of the Blue Delivered and winner will be announced Tues. March 15th).

I am Kaitlynn’s school principal and this child is very special. She is working hard to make her event a success. Any contributions you can give will be given straight to Locks of Love. This young girl thinks only of others and is a true angel!

My daughter is very much like kaitlynn. She has enough love for the world and shares as much as she can. I would love to get her as involved as kaitlynn. She donated her hair for the first time when she was 4 and she is ready to do it again now at age 7. She is high functioning autistic so to her she is helping kids that are different and special like her. It is beautiful and inspiring! We will definitely be coming to this event so she can meet kids as giving as her and so she can give the gift of her beautiful blonde hair for the second time.

How long does your hair need to be to be able to donate?
Hi Kaitlyn, it needs to be a minimum of a 10″ (measured in a ponytail from the base of your neck.) Come on out to the event and we’ll measure it for you! You’ll have a blast whether or not you’re able to donate. THANKS so much for considering it!!
